Publishing – Print and Digital Media – Sales & Marketing

wWolfe Solutions was retained for a full-time position with the Home Group of Active Interest Media following the acquisition of Cabin Life magazine and merging it with it’s own title, Country’s Best Cabins to become Cabin Living.

These two primarily print magazines were both languishing and it was hoped that combining their editorial content and substantially increasing the digital footprint and online activity of the new Cabin Living would turn them around. The assignment involved sales of advertising space in the print magazine, websites, e-newsletters, social media, targeted email campaigns, sponsored content marketing, and national consumer trade shows and exhibitions. In other words, developing and executing a wide variety of sales initiatives.

While digital ad sales grew as hoped, print did not – largely due to the cost differential. Print revenue was required to sustain the editorial, printing and mailing costs. The result was to continue the Cabin Living digital and online media, while shuttering the print magazine.  Successful cross-selling transitioned advertisers to sister publications in the log home and timber frame home construction markets.
